Ursula Krechel
Ursula Krechel, born in Trier in 1947, studied German language and literature, theatre studies and art history and worked as a theatre dramaturge. She lives in Berlin and writes poems, novels, essays, theatre plays and radio plays. Her publications include Nach Mainz! (1977), Rohschnitt (1983), Sizilianer des Gefühls (1993). She has received numerous awards for her trilogy Shanghai fern von wo (2008), Landgericht (2012) and Geisterbahn (2018). In 2020, she received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
